Product photography from our York studio

Clothing photography.

The shape.
The fabric.

The way it is worn.

Clothing photographs need to explain more than colour. We help fashion brands show the cut, construction and details, then choose whether a flat lay, shaped mannequin view or model will do the job best.

The right view for each garment

What do shoppers need to see?

These approaches can work together. We agree the mix around your collection, your customers and where the photographs will appear.

01

Laid flat

A garment arranged on a surface gives a clear view of its shape and design. It can also show an outfit or matching pieces together.

02

On an invisible mannequin

A shaped view shows structure, sleeves and the neckline. We photograph the garment on a mannequin, then remove the visible support in editing.

03

Worn by a model

Show how the garment sits on a person and how it is styled. Model choice, sample size, poses and image use are part of the planning.

The details help people judge

Give the fabric a closer look.

Material and finish
A close-up can show weave, texture, stitching or embroidery. Choose details that help explain the garment rather than repeating the same view.
Inside and outside
Labels, linings, pockets and fastenings may need their own images. Flag these on the garment list so they are included in the estimate.
Colour with care
We work towards faithful colour and a consistent finish. Screens can display colour differently; reference samples and existing photographs help guide the work.

The person, the sample and the use

Plan the fit before the shoot day.

Choose the person and sample sizes

Tell us who the clothing is designed for, the sizes available and the measurements. We discuss suitable models and any fitting needs before booking.

Agree the styling and poses

Plan full-length views, back views, movement and detail. Include shoes, accessories and any styling support needed to complete the outfits.

Set out where images will appear

Website, social posts, paid ads and printed campaigns may involve different model usage arrangements. We confirm the intended channels and period before booking.

From individual garments to a range

Keep every style accounted for.

Groups and coordinated sets

Show a collection together without confusing what is included in a purchase. List the combinations separately from individual garment views.

02

Campaign and supporting scenes

A setting can place the clothing in a familiar context. Plan these alongside the shop images so the colours and styling feel related.

03

A consistent shop grid

Choose a repeatable approach for the main images. Existing examples help us agree framing, position and finish when new styles join the range.

A clear list keeps the work organised

Plan the range before it arrives.

Styles, colours and views

List each style and colour, sample size and required photographs. Front, back, close-up and model views each need to be accounted for.

Preparation and editing

Tell us about delicate materials, creases, damage or unfinished samples. We agree preparation and finishing, keeping garment shape and details believable.

File names and future additions

Share your product references and shop requirements. We agree naming, formats and how future additions can follow the same approach.

Before you book

Clothing photography questions.

Can I mix flat lay, mannequin and model photographs?

Yes. We plan each style around what shoppers need to see. The estimate lists the views and methods agreed for the collection.

Which size garments should I send?

Share the sample sizes and measurements available before sending the range. Suitable sizes depend on the mannequin or model and the garment’s cut.

Can you arrange models and styling?

We can discuss suitable models and the styling needed for the shoot. Availability, sample fit, production costs and image usage are agreed before booking.

How do you handle different colours of one garment?

List every colour you need shown and send suitable samples or agreed references. We confirm how each version will be produced; colour changes are not assumed to be a substitute for photographing different construction or materials.

Can you match our existing shop images?

Send examples so we can assess the lighting, angles, framing and finish. We agree the approach and any limitations before shooting the new range.

Do you photograph labels, lining and small details?

Yes. Tell us which areas matter for each style. Separate photographs of pockets, labels, fabric or fastenings are included in the agreed image list.

How is the price worked out?

We quote for the images and work agreed for your project. Your itemised estimate sets out the photography, editing and any additional production requirements, with VAT shown separately. There is no minimum order.

Can you work to my deadline?

Tell us the date when you enquire, along with when the products or source images will be available. We confirm the delivery date before booking and will tell you if the brief needs adjusting to fit the time available.
