A clean white background
Keeps the focus on the product and works well in a consistent shop grid. We agree how much space to leave around it and whether a soft shadow or reflection suits the intended use.
For online shops, catalogues and growing ranges
A clear view.
Of what
you sell.
A packshot is a photograph of your product against a simple background, usually white. It helps customers see what they are buying, from the overall shape to the details that matter.
We help you choose the views, photograph your products in our York studio and prepare the finished files for where you sell.

Choose the views around the product
You do not need every kind of photograph for every item. Start with what a customer needs to see. We can help you work out the rest.

01 / The main view
A clear first look at the whole product. The shape, packaging and label need to read well, even as a small image in a shop grid.

02 / Another angle
A side, back or inside view answers what the first photo cannot. These trainers show how changing the angle reveals their shape and sole.

03 / A closer look
Move closer to the fabric, stitching, fastening or finish. Give customers the detail they would look at if they could pick the product up.

04 / The complete set
Show the pieces in a bundle together, or how products belong to a range. For a set on sale, the photograph should make its contents clear.
The work behind a simple photograph
Plan the photographs, then the price
The price follows the work involved. We look at the products, the photographs you need, preparation and finishing. Reflective surfaces, arranged groups and background removal can need extra time.
Larger ranges and repeat setups can be accounted for in your estimate. It sets out the photography and retouching included, with VAT shown separately.
How we price your shootFrom your products to your shop
A product link, a list or a few phone photos will help. Include where you sell and any deadline. You do not need a finished photography brief.
We confirm the views, backgrounds, editing and files, along with the price and delivery date. You know what is planned before booking.
Choose clean, complete samples and send them by tracked courier, or arrange a drop-off. We photograph and finish the agreed images, then arrange delivery of the files and return of your products.

A product link or rough idea is enough to start. We will come back with a plan and an itemised estimate.

A packshot is a clear photograph of a product against a simple background, usually white. It shows what you are selling without a styled setting around it. You might use one as the main photo in your online shop, then add other views to show the back, materials or contents.
It depends on what a customer needs to see. A front view may be enough for a straightforward item; a bag might also need its back, inside and fastening shown. We agree a list of photographs with you before booking. Each finished view counts as an image, so ten products with three views each means thirty images.
We quote for your products and the photographs you need. The number of images, materials, preparation, groups and finishing requirements affect the price. There is no minimum order. Repeat setups and larger ranges can be accounted for in the estimate. Your itemised estimate sets out the photography and retouching included, with VAT shown separately.
Yes. Ask for a transparent PNG, an image file with the background removed so you can place the product on your own design. We can also supply images on white or an agreed background colour. Tell us what you need before the shoot so the finishing and any additional cost are included in your estimate.
Tell us where you sell and share any image instructions you have. We agree the background, image dimensions and file format around those requirements. Amazon main images have different requirements from supporting photos; for a full listing, our Amazon photography service covers the wider set.
Send examples of your existing images. We will look at their angle, lighting, spacing and background, then agree how closely we can match them. This is useful when adding new products to a range. We aim for faithful colour, although screens and their settings can display colours differently.
Send your products to our York studio by tracked courier, or arrange a drop-off. Choose clean, complete samples in good condition and flag any marks or packaging damage. Tell us your deadline when you enquire. We confirm the delivery date and arrangements for returning your products before booking.
Yes. Packshots show the product clearly; lifestyle photographs show it in a setting or in use. We can plan both together. If you need a set of different images for each product, our ecommerce packages are another useful starting point.
