Product photography from our York studio

Lifestyle product photography.

Show where it fits.
And how it is used.

Lifestyle photography shows a product in a setting or being used. A drink being poured, a bag being carried or a lamp beside a chair can help customers imagine the product in their own lives.

A setting that makes sense

Where should the product belong?

Black garlic product range styled vertical lifestyle photography - food styling UK

01

A scene built in the studio

We arrange real products, surfaces and props, then light and photograph them together. Useful for food, beauty, drinks and smaller home products.

02

A real location

An outdoor setting or an existing room can bring something a studio set cannot. We plan access, travel, weather and any people needed before booking.

03

A scene assembled digitally

We combine a product photograph with a chosen setting. This needs the right angle, scale and light to look convincing. We will explain when it suits the brief.

The choices behind the photograph

The product still needs to lead.

Give the scene a purpose
Start with what the image should explain: serving a drink, using a tool or placing something in a home. Props should support that purpose.
Agree the look
A few reference images and your brand colours help us understand the mood. We agree surfaces, props and the direction before shooting.
Think about people
Hands or a model can show use and scale. Tell us who the product is for so we can discuss suitable people, arrangements and usage.

Think beyond one frame

Plan where the photographs will appear.

Your shop and listings

Supporting images should help shoppers understand the product. They can sit beside clear product views on white.

Banners and social posts

A wide website image and a tall social post need different space. Share the formats and any words you want to place over the image.

The production involved

Props, set changes, locations, models and editing affect the work. We set these out in the estimate, including any additional costs.

From the first conversation to the finished images.

How we price your shoot ↗
  1. Share the products and purpose

Tell us where the images will appear, who they are for and any dates you need to meet.

  2. Agree the scene and production

We confirm the setting, props, people, image formats and price. Any location or specialist arrangements are agreed first.

  3. Photograph and finish the set

We shoot the agreed plan, edit the images and prepare the versions needed for your shop or campaign.

Let’s plan the work

Tell us what you have in mind.

Tell us what the product does and where you want customers to imagine using it. A few references can help, but you do not need to arrive with a finished idea.

A product link or rough idea is enough to start. We will come back with a plan and an itemised estimate.

Quick enquiry

Tell us about the photographs you need.

A product link or a rough idea is plenty. We will read it and reply from the York studio, usually the same working day.

Before you book

Lifestyle product photography questions.

Do I need to provide props or a finished idea?

No finished idea is needed. Share the product and the purpose of the images. We discuss suitable props and surfaces, and agree what is supplied or sourced as part of the estimate.

Can you include hands or models?

Yes. We can discuss hands or models where they help show use, scale or fit. Casting, availability and how the images will be used need to be agreed before booking.

Is every lifestyle scene photographed in a real setting?

No. We offer studio scenes, location photography and digital composite work. We explain the proposed method before booking so you know how your images will be made.

Can the images match an existing campaign?

Send examples, colours and any brand guidance. We use them to agree the setting, lighting and editing direction, including any limitations in matching an earlier shoot.

How is the price worked out?

We quote for the images and work agreed for your project. Your itemised estimate sets out the photography, editing and any additional production requirements, with VAT shown separately. There is no minimum order.

Can you work to my deadline?

Tell us the date when you enquire, along with when the products or source images will be available. We confirm the delivery date before booking and will tell you if the brief needs adjusting to fit the time available.
