We photograph clothing on a mannequin, then remove the visible mannequin through editing. The garment keeps its shape, with necklines, linings and other details finished to suit the agreed view.

From dressed mannequin to finished image
Show the structure of the garment.
- Dress and arrange the sample
- We position the garment and adjust sleeves, hems and fastenings. The sample size and cut affect how it sits on the mannequin.
- Photograph the necessary pieces
- An open neckline or lining can need a separate photograph. We plan these views so the inside reads correctly in the finished image.
- Remove the mannequin
- Editing brings the required photographs together and removes the support. The aim is a clean view of the garment and its construction.

Length, waist shape and the way the material hangs affect the image. Send sample measurements and flag details that need another view.

Swimwear and fitted pieces
Straps, cut-outs and necklines need careful positioning. We assess the sample and discuss which views best explain the garment.

Ghost mannequin photography questions.
What does ghost mannequin mean?
It means photographing a garment on a mannequin and removing the visible mannequin in editing. Separate views may be combined to show an inside neckline or lining.
Can you show a jacket lining or inside label?
Yes, where the sample and construction allow it. Tell us which areas need to be visible so the extra views and editing are included in the estimate.
Which sample size should I send?
Share the sizes and measurements available before sending anything. We can advise on the most suitable sample for the garment and planned mannequin setup.
Does this show how a garment fits a person?
It shows the garment’s shape and structure on the mannequin. Model photography is more useful when you need to show how it sits on a person or moves when worn.
How is the price worked out?
We quote for the images and work agreed for your project. Your itemised estimate sets out the photography, editing and any additional production requirements, with VAT shown separately. There is no minimum order.
Can you work to my deadline?
Tell us the date when you enquire, along with when the products or source images will be available. We confirm the delivery date before booking and will tell you if the brief needs adjusting to fit the time available.
